5 Minute Mind – World Mental Health Day

Dear anxiety,
Today is a day of the year that is recognized by WHO to bring awareness to the world aboyut mental health. YOu and I know a thing or two about that, don’t we? I think perhaps you know me better than I know you dear Anxiety. I have however gotten used to the sound of your pattering footsteps on your way to sneak attack me. You have to admint, you aren’t as able to sneak up on me as you used to be. It’s not that I don’t like you, my friend, in fact sometimes when you’re around you do me a bit of good and help keep me out of trouble. It’s just that sometimes you are a bit too over protective of our relationship. If I want to visit with other emotions, you know like jpoy, happiness, stuff like that, then you would always shout until I gave in and stayed with you. I dont want to say the usual platidutudes like, “its not you its me” because my dear anxiety, it really is mosdtly you. I have spent a lot of time over the past few years learning how to let go and in doing so have learned how to gain so much more. I guess what I am trying to say is we will always be friends with a somewhat symbiotic bond, but I just can’t stay with you all the time anymore. As I said, you’ve nept me very sade at home, but in keeping me safem, you are also stopping me from growing,
